Doane University and Fresh Ideas have added a new item to the menu: their new Green & Go container program. This option provides a convenient and sustainable dining feature for students, staff, and faculty.

The Green & Go containers cater to those with busy schedules—whether faculty members grab a quick bite between classes, students need extra time to study in their dorms, or anyone wants to savor a picnic outdoors. Returning the containers is straightforward: users can either exchange their used container for a clean one or receive a token for their next Green & Go, promoting an eco-friendly cycle.

Victoria Swanson, Director of Dining Services at Doane, shared her excitement about the program: “The Green & Go containers have been very popular with students who work during their lunch break or don’t have time to sit down, especially when the dining hall gets a bit loud or crowded.”

The containers can be purchased at the dining hall cashier stand during lunch services for a one-time fee of $5 each.

By opting for this sustainable choice, students, faculty and staff not only enjoy their meals but also contribute to a greener campus. Both Doane University and Fresh Ideas take pride in leading the way to make sustainable dining easy and accessible for everyone.
