Counseling

College is a big change, full of exciting growth which at times can feel overwhelming. The professional staff of Doane University and our affiliates are trained to help students to respond to everyday concerns during this transitional time (relationship problems, stress, homesickness, etc.) as well as crisis situations.

Our counselors provide a free, therapeutic setting for students to address mental health concerns. We serve all individuals regardless of age, race, sex, economic status, sexual orientation, or gender expression. We treat everyone with dignity and respect.

To ensure accessibility, Doane University provides a Counseling Center on our Crete campus catering to residential students, and a Counseling Office on the nonresidential campus in Lincoln, serving both undergraduate and graduate students from Lincoln, Omaha, and Online programs. Additionally, nonresidential undergraduate students have access to no-cost services through the Continuum EAP Student Assistance Program. Your well-being is a priority, and we are here to support you throughout your college journey.

Confidentiality

Doane ensures our counseling services are in compliance with the ethical standards put in place by the American Counseling Association. Seeking counsel will not jeopardize an individual’s academic standing or relationship with the faculty and staff at Doane. Confidentiality is an important element of the therapeutic process.
