How do you feel Doane prepared you for your career?
Doane prepared me for my career by giving me the opportunity to learn alongside peers working in many different fields and industries. I think being around diverse individuals has given me the chance to learn how to serve clients and stakeholders more effectively. The faculty at Doane have provided me an excellent academic foundation and my coursework in project management and strategy has been especially valuable in my role as a program manager. Doane’s ID&T program has equipped me with skills I use everyday to solve problems, understand and identify stakeholder needs, communicate effectively, and guide customers.
What do you consider the best part of your Doane experience?
Meeting peers and learning from their experiences as well as applying newly learned knowledge and skills.
What is something you're proud of accomplishing or achieving while at Doane? What are you proud of accomplishing or achieving in your career?
I’m especially proud of my capstone project as part of the ID&T program. This program and the capstone project helped me realize what my passions in life are.
Who has been/is a major influence or role model for you from Doane? How have they helped you?
I am so lucky to have been influenced by many wonderful people. Too many to name! Jen Bossard, Terri Deems, Melissa Morris-Wichman, AJ Chauradia, to name a few. I’m lucky to have received encouragement and support as well as being challenged to be my best self.
What advice would you give to current students?
Trust the learning process and enjoy the journey. Ask lots of questions and seek out the answers. Have fun!
